Brunergy Utama Sdn Bhd is a wholly Bruneian-owned company focused on building major infrastructure projects to drive forward growth in Borneo.

History

Incorporated on 21st October 2013, the Brunergy was initially knowned as Mumin Energy (B) Sdn Bhd, mainly operating in the oil and gas sector. A year later, founders Danny Chong and Khalid Haji Abdul Mumin realigned the company’s mission to focus on mass transport delivery systems for Brunei and neighbouring Malaysian states, renaming the company on 5th Auguest 2014 to Brunergy Utama (B) Sdn Bhd.

The two founders then undertook heavy groundwork and research on the feasibility of a mass transport delivery network to the local region. Inspired by the increasing popularity of bullet trains in China, Japan and other parts of the world, Danny and Khalid eventually made the final decision to pursue this venture for Borneo island.

Spearheaded by a team of deeply experienced directors, Brunergy leverages on the spectrum of skills and expertise drawn from its Board, steering the direction of its projects, and its Management, executing the ambitious vision of the company.

Board of Directors

Siti Nur Khadijah Khalid

Siti Nur Khadijah was previously in the Recruitment Division of oil and gas corporation, Hengyi Industries, as well as event management firm, S-Team Solution, as a Sales Executive.

Well-versed in the private sectors, working with both small and international businesses. Previously, HENGYI INDUSTRIES SDN BHD, an FDI company, is involved in the development and operation of the oil and gas sector in Pulau Muara Besar through its Human Resources/Admin (Recruitment Division) and holds a position as a Sales Executive with S-Team Solution, a firm that manages events. 

 

While she was in Melbourne, Australia, she worked as a Hungry Jack’s crew member, an assistant barista with Starbucks, and a kitchen assistant/janitor. Her bottom-up work experience gives her a strong basis for managing a company organization both present and future. Supported by her academic credentials, which include a General Certificate of Secondary Education from a respectable and a Higher National Diploma of Business (Event Management).

Hajah Sipah Haji Adi

Hajah Sipah was previously a senior member in the Consumer Banking Division of the Bruneian HSBC branch, known for leading her teams her zero errors and defects reputation.

An experience banker holding a senior position in the Consumer Banking Division of HSBC branch, where she dealt with customers who made deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other financial transactions. A team player, she was trusted to oversee the team’s compliance with the bank’s operational guidelines. Zero errors or defects in her team’s daily task, which protects the bank’s employees, assets, and clients, was a critical component of her responsibility.

Ting Hung Chuo

Hung Chuo heads pharmacuetical company, Danzaric Pharacare, based in the Bruneian capital. She also has experience and oversees various family-based businesses.

An experienced businesswoman with extensive experience in a variety of industries, including restaurants and pharmacies. She is currently in charge of Danzaric Pharmacare pharmacy, which is located in the center of Bandar Seri Begawan. In addition to this, she also oversees other businesses owned by family members.

Management

Danny Chong

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Danny is currently an Operations Manager in the health and pharmaceutical sector, providing medical supplies to oil and gas corporations. The majority of his over two-decade long career was spent in the global transportation sector and developing duty-free systems.

More than 20 years of experience in the worldwide transportation sector. Holding a certificate in Business Studies from Brunei’s Saiful College, Diploma of Business Studies in Tourism and Hospitality Management and attended Bachelor of Business Studies (Economics) from Australia. 

 

Served as the joint venture’s Inflight DutyFree Sales manager for World Duty Free USA and Royal Brunei Airlines. Responsible for training of RB cabin crews on inflight sales, logistics of the bonded store and the Administration/Management of the department including the accounts. As a project consultant for setting up the Duty Free system for Mongolian Airlines and training its cabin crew on inflight sales, was trusted to train and impart information to Mongolian Airlines in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, in the early 2000s. Travelled extensively during his 10 years tenure working with the airlines around the world with regards to duty free system and experienced/observed the huge parameter of the transport industry within the region with foreign countries relevant authorities and the fragrance houses. 

 

Currently, hold the position of Operations Manager in the health and pharmaceutical sector. Dealed extensively with numerous oil & gas drilling companies such as Sapura, Maersk, Ensco, Seadrill, Elite, Nobel, Aban, Cameron and many more ……. on the supply of medical needs.

Khalid Haji Abdul Mumin

DEPUTY MANAGING DIRECTOR

Khalid was the former Managing Director of Class ‘A’ telecommunications contractor, Syarikat Khalid Sdn Bhd. Throughout his three-decade career, he has led and delivered nation-wide construction projects within both the private and public sector.

The former managing director of Syarikat Khalid Sdn Bhd, a reputable Class “A” telecom contractor with the former Jabatan Telekom Brunei (JTB), now UNN. 30 years of project management and delivery experience with project owners like JTB, Data Stream Technology (DST), and Department of Electrical Services (DES) with respectable and great results. With the recommendation of Jabatan Telekom Brunei (JTB), have completed projects awarded by multinational telecommunications companies such as Sapura (Malaysia) and LG (Korea). The project involved nation-wide construction work on the Telekom Line Plant Projects.
